Saratoga Springs Youth Rocketry


Whether you are working on scouting achievements or just wanting to have fun, launching rockets will take you there!

9-11am Saturday May 3rd - Education Day in the City Chambers
9-11am Saturday, May 10th - Launch Day at Neptune Park

$20 cost covers both days and includes materials to 
Build and Launch a Model Rocket!
Open to all youth ages 7 - 17, boys and girls!

Meets all the requirements of the Space Exploration Merit Badge.

RACE for READING

You can now register for the Race for Reading 5K and Fun Run by going to the Civic Events Registration page and clicking on the drop down menu arrow. Select your category and sign up!

Saratoga Splash...
Choose from the following:

5K Individual adult $25
5K 18 & under $20
5K family pass (up to 5 people) $70
Additional family members $10 each

Fun Run Individual $15
Fun Run Family pass (up to 5 people) $55
Additional family members $5 each

The 5K will be at 8:30p.m. on Wednesday, June 11th @ 8:30p.m.



Shirt and runner bag will be available for pick up the night before the race. This year you can pick them up at the pavilion at Vista Heights Middle School, Tuesday, June 10th 6:30-8:30p.m.

There will be other fun  Saratoga Splash activities at the park that night, so bring your family and enjoy!

Summer Reading Program



Registration for Summer Reading opens on Saturday, May 17th and is limited to 300 Participants
Children may attend any library programs during the summer for free. 
Due to a limited number of prizes, they MUST be registered to participate in the reading challenges.

in-n-out COVER to COVER deadline

IN-N-OUT BURGER PRESENTS:

ending Saturday, April 12th!
bring completed cards for certificates until Saturday, April 19th.
(Must be finished reading by the 12th.)

Stop by your local library to sign up for the In-N-Out Cover to Cover Reading Club. Sign up begins on March 1st.

Read five books and get a certificate for a free hamburger or cheeseburger.

 All kids ages 4-12 are eligible to participate. 

If children are unable to read themselves, their parent may read five books to them.

For every five books read, the child will receive a Cover to Cover club Achievement Award.

 Earn up to three certificates per child, while supplies last. See a librarian for more details.
 Program runs 3/1 thru 4/12.

About the Author
An admitted eccentric, Lance Conrad describes himself as a “Cowboy-Mad Scientist-Philosopher-Chef.” His hobbies include making lasers, blacksmithing, and playing with thermite. While he has traveled far and wide, he considers the mountains of Utah his one true home.
Lance currently has one book published, with two more set to come out during 2014. His passion for writing comes from a sincere belief that the books we read shape our lives as we struggle on with our favorite characters.
 
Books will be available at a discount. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the library.
